About
Trevor Jones is a Singer Songwriter & Producer from Cambridgeshire, UK. Born in Walthamstow, London E17, Trevor has been writing songs and playing live concerts since he was 12 years old, winning his first talent contest at 13.
Trevor is an accomplished guitarist, with a distinctive finger style playing technique, born from many years playing in acoustic bands and folk groups. Although his main instrument is Guitar & Vocals, at just 15 Trevor became a drummer for a commercial rock band culminating in supporting Suzi Quattro at The Royal Standard, Walthamstow. The 3 years spent playing drums only strengthened his rhythmic guitar playing, which he uses to good effect to this day.
At 18 Trevor was guitarist and lead vocalist of a six-piece folk-rock group (Tear), playing Glastonbury festival in ’97 and ’98 and the V festival.
During this period Trevor was also part of a five piece harmony folk group (Dragonfly), playing on live radio and performing at The Royal College of Music.
In 2007 Trevor began his solo career as a Singer Songwriter, and in 2009 was invited to Warsaw, Poland to showcase for EMI music publishing. There, he co-formed a Polish/UK pop rock band called “The Few”. The band immediately caught the attention of Universal Music Chairman; Andrzej Pucinski, who produced their first album at the prestigious Izabelin studios, Poland.
That same year, The Few became finalists at the Top Trendy festival in Sopot, playing to a live tv audience of 2.9 million, which was a record number of viewers for the show.
Whilst in Poland, Trevor signed a publishing deal with No Problemo Music Publishing, and together with The Few, was commissioned to write songs for Polish TV. Trevor was later asked to write a song for Poland’s longest standing pop band ‘Papa D’ – ‘Out of This World’ was released on the album ‘Papa Loves Dance’ (Dec 2013, Fonografika).
Back in the UK, Trevor has recently embarked on a new creative partnership with Bianca Ross, a wonderfully talented singer songwriter from Australia. Within 6 weeks of meeting, they had co-written, recorded and released a song for the children’s charity Embrace CVoC, with a live performance at the Ricoh Arena in Birmingham (April 2019). Their song ‘ How Long’ can be downloaded here, with ALL proceeds going to Embrace.
“It’s very exciting to see what magic will come from the Jones & Ross partnership.. I’m really looking forward to it..”
Meanwhile, Trevor has released 2 new singles: The End Game, a kind of ‘Muse meets Rage Against the Machine’.. and his very latest single: ‘Young Love’, a love ballad with a country feel – both of which are available on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon Music.
